Gigi Cabello
Gigi Cabello is a healthcare consultant with Milliman. She applies over 10 years of experience with health and quality of life analyses and research focused on developing patient-centric policy approaches to community health, healthcare access disparities, aging in place, the opioid epidemic, and monitoring and managing chronic conditions.
Gigi combines problem-solving experience, stakeholder engagement and coalition-building, and in-depth knowledge of the public health space to provide support to state Medicaid agencies, other health and human service agencies, and healthcare industry clients in aspects of policy development and program strategy, design, and implementation. While at Milliman, she has assisted clients with various projects, including managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) value-based payment program design and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) initiatives.
Experience
Prior to joining Milliman, Gigi worked at a consulting firm where she managed partnerships with state Medicaid clients and managed care organizations. She led in-depth research initiatives with representatives from industries, including public health, medical practices, federally qualified health centers, and local community organizations to characterize and address barriers in access to care. Before entering the consulting space, Gigi developed innovative clinical and translational research to investigate mechanisms of cell aging and their impact on chronic and acute health conditions through roles at the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Washington Harborview Injury Prevention Research Center, and the Indiana University School of Medicine.
