Cathy Hwang

Cathy has worked for various assignments for insurance companies, large, self-insured employers, and a reinsurance company in Greater China and Southeast Asia. Her experience includes:

• Providing actuarial assistance for PICC’s IPO on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong
• Providing actuarial assistance for CPIC’s IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange
• Conducting due diligence and appraisal values for mergers and acquisitions
• Serving as appointed actuary of a multinational P&C insurer operating in China
• Conducting statutory reserve reviews for some 60 insurance and reinsurance companies, including the calculation of reserve variability using stochastic methods
• Providing actuarial assistance to several Hong Kong government and statutory organizations, including the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau, Land Registry, Hong Kong Housing Society, Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation and Hospital Authority
• Providing actuarial training to P&C companies
• Providing technical support to Milliman's actuarial P&C reserving software users in the region, including the major P&C companies in China and Hong Kong
• Conducting claims experience analyses to prioritize risk management efforts
• Conducting market research for product positioning
