Experience
Ted specializes in consulting to life insurance organizations and related parties. His consulting activities include financial and other analyses related to statutory and GAAP financial statements, mergers and acquisitions, corporate planning, and modeling. Other activities include several insurance company insolvency, liquidation, and rehabilitation assignments, as well as advice to clients regarding using and accounting for life, health, and annuity reinsurance treaties.
Ted has attended quarterly meetings of the NAIC Life and Health Actuarial Task Force and other financial statement-oriented meetings of the NAIC for more than 15 years as a monitor for Milliman life consultants to keep abreast of NAIC accounting, capital reserving, and other actuarial matters.
Presentations and Publications
Ted's summaries of the NAIC meetings provided a valuable reference source for Milliman consultants and are published from time to time in several publications of the Society of Actuaries, including the Life Insurance Company Financial Reporting Section's "Financial Reporter" and the Smaller Insurance Company Section's "Small Talk" newsletters.
Ted has also given presentations on NAIC activities, risk-based capital developments, and accounting issues at various Society of Actuaries meetings and other professional groups such as the Chicago Actuarial Club, the Society of Financial Examiners, and Milliman internal professional development meetings.
